JEWELRY CARE
- Remove jewelry before showering or applying products. Take off your jewelry before showering, applying lotion, perfume, or other beauty products. Chemicals and moisture can damage delicate metals and gemstones.
- Leave jewelry at home during workouts. Strenuous activity can place unnecessary pressure on your pieces and increase the risk of bending, scratching, or other damage.
- Avoid contact with chemicals. Perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, lotions, cleaning products, and other chemicals can cause metals to tarnish or discolor and may dull certain gemstones.
- Remove jewelry before bed. Give your pieces a break while you sleep. Store them in a safe, dry place to help prevent bending, scratching, or tangling.
- Keep necklaces clasped when not being worn. Fastening the clasp before storing your necklace helps prevent the chain from tangling or knotting.
- Take extra care with pearls. Pearls are especially delicate and require gentle handling. Keep them away from chemicals, abrasives, and solvents, and avoid exposing them to excessive moisture.
- Clean diamond jewelry gently. For diamond pieces, use a soft toothbrush with a small amount of mild dish soap and lukewarm water. Gently brush the piece, taking care not to scrub too aggressively. Never use chemicals, abrasives, or solvents on pearls.
While we carefully handcraft every piece to be treasured for years to come, proper care and maintenance are essential to preserving its beauty. Diamond Queen Toronto does not offer routine jewelry maintenance services, but our team is always happy to provide care tips and guidance whenever you need them.
